hot set testing is performed on solar cable insulation and sheath materials as part of production quality control and product performance verification.

How Hot Set Testing Works

Reliable Quality from Raw Materials to F

Hot set testing is used to evaluate whether the cross-linked insulation and sheath materials of a cable have achieved the required degree of cross-linking.

Hot Set Test Requirements for Solar Cables

For H1Z2Z2-K solar cables according to EN 50618, the hot set test is performed according to EN 60811-507 under the following conditions:

Cable Hot Set Testing

Why Hot Set Testing Matters

Cross-linking improves the thermal and mechanical stability of polymer materials used in solar cable insulation and sheathing.

If the material is insufficiently cross-linked, it may deform excessively when exposed to elevated temperatures and mechanical stress.

Hot set testing therefore provides an important verification of the manufacturing and cross-linking process, helping FRCABLE evaluate whether solar cable insulation and sheath materials meet the required thermal and mechanical performance criteria.

Solar Cable Quality Verification

FRCABLE uses hot set testing together with other material, dimensional, electrical and environmental tests to verify the consistency and performance of solar cables manufactured according to applicable standards and customer specifications.
